Alva's Education Foundation has initiated Ekalavya Sports Club 25 years back to support meritorious sports students by providing them excellent coaching along with free education and boarding. It has proved fruitful with athletes and players earning international medals and recognition, continuously winning championships for the universities they represent.
Sports Vision Of our Foundation:
Dr. M. Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva's Education Foundation, is a keen sports lover and promoter. With a vision to encourage sports, he started the Alva's Ekalavya Club in 1985. Students were given free education and coaching. As the foundation grew, a permanent sports hostel was established, and since 1995, more than 3000 students have received free education and coaching under the sports quota in various disciplines. Qualified coaches provide special training. Many national and international athletes have been produced by the foundation.
Around 120 university players are produced every year who represent the university and bring laurels. To date, around 1300 students have represented the university at Inter-University Meets in various events and have earned recognition.

Students are selected under the sports quota from various age groups, from primary level to postgraduate level.
In the academic year 2014-15, around 750 students were adopted under the Sports Quota. Apart from Sports Quota, there is Cultural Quota and Education Quota, where the total number of adopted students across all three divisions is around 3000 in the current academic year.
