Alva’s Education Foundation has initiated Ekalavya Sports Club 25 years back to support meritorious sports students by providing them excellent coaching along with free education and boarding. It has proved fruitful by athletics and players getting international medals and recognition other than continuously holding the championship universities they represent.

Sports Vision Of our foundation:

Dr.M.Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation is a keen sports lover and promoter with a vision to promote sports he had started the Alva’s Ekalavya Club way back in 1985. Here students were given free education and coaching facilities. As the foundation grew over years he started a permanent sports hostel and for today has given sports quota seats giving them free education and coaching for about 3000 students since 1995 in various sports quota disciplines. Qualified coaches have been nominated to give them special training. Many national and international athletes have been produced by the foundations whose name and achievement are given here below.

Around 120 university players are produced every year who represent the university and get laurels to the university. As per date around 1300 students of our foundation have represented the university at Inter University Meets in various events and have got laurels to the institution.

Various disciplines under which sports quota (i.e free education and coaching) is given:-

  3. Weight lifting and body building.
  4. Hand ball.
  5. Soft ball.
  6. Basketball.
  7. Ball badminton.
  8. Badminton.
  9. Volley ball.
  10. Kho-Kho.
  11. Wrestling.
  12. Kabaddi.
  13. Throw ball.

Students are selected under sports quota from various age groups i.e. from primary level education up to post graduate level of education.

In this academic year i.e 2014-15 there are around 750 students adopted under Sports Quota above. Apart from Sports Quota there is Cultural Quota and Education Quota adoption scheme where in the total number of students who stand adopted under all three division are around 3000 students in this current academic year.
